A Conference on the Baha’i Faith and the Arts

Join six audacious women with one wild idea - an arts conference in the Florida panhandle. It is a joyous experimental project, an individual group initiative. We are excitable when we all get together, but we are also all business when it comes to making this conference successful. And we can be quite serious – please see our vision and mission statements. We’ve simply been dreaming about it for a long time and decided it was about time to DO something.

Our Mission

we wish to honor those artists who have found meaningful ways of expressing their art in this world, and to encourage those who are working to develop their artistic vision and voice (including visual arts, dramatic arts, music, architecture, dance, film and the written word). Other participants might include those who have experience in psychology, the humanities and the healing arts, experienced students of the arts and highly interested and deepened seekers with these backgrounds.

Our highest hope is that the creative support and collaboration engendered by the gathering will be continued after the event.

Final Word

Our immediate goal is to plan and implement a three day Conference to be held on Pensacola Beach, Florida, April 13-15, 2007 devoted to the appreciation of the spiritual and ransformative nature of art, and how creative pursuits might be nurtured into further development within our Baha'i communities.

“That day will the Cause spread like wildfire when its spirit and teachings are presented on the stage or in art and literature as a whole. Art can better awaken such noble sentiments than cold rationalizing, especially among the mass of the people.”
