Oscar DeGruy
Oscar DeGruy is a writer, actor, and director who studied at the Performing Arts Society of Los Angeles. His creative experience includes work in film, numerous television shows and movies, as well as original plays and productions. Mr. DeGruy has a long list of TV credits which include starring on the Bill Cosby Show, Good Times, the Streets of San Francisco and Hillstreet Blues, to name just a few.

In 1974 he and his wife formed the first Bahá'í Youth Workshop which became a model that inspired youth and young adults worldwide. He now applies this workshop concept to public school systems around the country, where he facilitates trainings that utilize the performing arts as an intervention strategy to promote unity in diversity among students and teachers of differing backgrounds and value systems.

Mr. DeGruy has developed an interactive approach to learning that demonstrates how focus exercises and theater games can promote discipline, concentration and self control, and how performance and presentation can encourage students to behave in appropriate ways that will assist them in developing life skills that can be applied to their everyday lives.
